Wedmore Goes Nuts!
Join in our week of events to mark National Tree Week from 26 November to 4 December 2011!
It starts on Sat 26 Nov with All Things Wood in the yard of the Boroiugh House in The Borough – public event to mark start of Wedmore Goes Nuts!, our tree week - roast chestnuts, free trees and advice on planting, children's games, wood turnings, etc.
Then on Sunday 27 Nov we have a Walk & Talk with botanist Liz McDonnell, a walk of 1.5-2 hours ooking at local flora and woodland species – meet by the dentists at the top of The Lerburne at 2pm.
On Wednesday 30 Nov and Saturday 3 Dec we're holding willow workshops with leading local willow artist Sophie Courtiour, open to all - make your own creation or join in making a community sculpture. Cost £15; to book either date, contact Rob Richley at or 01934 713802.
The week ends with our Woodland Work Party on Sunday 4 Dec, 10am - 1pm: free cider and apple cake for those taking part in some or all of our working day at Terry's Community Wood and the adjoining Gooseham Community Orchard. Wear suitable footwear, and gardening gloves. Follow the footpath signs to Terry's Community Wood from the footbridge on the right at the bttom of The Lerburne (the road by the dentists).
